Q:

Where is Moon Park...I'm in San Diego. Also, what is the dry weight including trailer, and could it be pulled with a 1/2 ton pickup? Thanks! Victor

Jul-15-07

A:

It's actually Moorpark, in Ventura county, 45min north of los angeles. A 1/2 ton will pull it, no problem. I'd estimate the weight at 5k.

Q:

Is this an all fiberglass boat, or fiberglass over wood? Thanks, Tom

Jul-13-07

A:

all fiberglass

Q:

Hi, could you please send me more pictures than are on the ebay ad? maybe some of the interior etc, anything you got. My fiencee is scuba certified and I used to go with pals dad in 43' to catalina all thru teen years, would you take it to catalina? sounds like you did a through resto, please some info on your outdrive too, thank you kindly, Matt

Jul-13-07

A:

I've got some of the interior now, check it out. The outdrive is a volvo 270, I'm told by the mechanics who did the re-power that its pretty much bullet proof. I've taken it out to the channel islands from oxnard/ventura and it does just fine.

Q:

Where are you located? What is the reserve? I live in northern calif. is there any problems you can tell me about? Thanks Denny

Jul-12-07

A:

The boats in a storage yard in Oxnard, by Channel Islands harbor. I haven't run the boat since January, so no problems then. I have done some repairs to the bow which was gouged by the trailer, so I included pics of that.

Q:

Hi nicole shounder I'm restoring one myself. would like to ask if you have any of the original owner brouchure, manual, paperwork and if for fee would copy it? as you said very few remaining. also would like to discuss your repower. please contact me. nickyprn@ix.netcon.com

Jul-10-07

A:

Hi Nicole, I don't have the original owners manual to the boat, otherwise I would. Anything you would like to know about the repower, I'll try and answer, I had it professionally done, so I may not be able to help that much.

Q:

Nice restoration! A few questions, tho; how many hours on engine/outdrive, which outdrive does it have, how large is the gas tank, does it have freshwater cooling, and about how much does it weigh?

Jul-10-07

A:

thanks, I'll check the hour meter on thursday and take pics of the engine, interior also at that time and post. The hours are very low, I've barely used it for the last 2 years. It has a volvo 270 outdrive, and 73 gal. fuel tank, and no it doesn't have freshwater cooling. Weight, I'd estimate at around 5k lbs.

Q:

I just wanted to say these are a great boat, not many left!, i have the 1974 model, but its a soft top, all original, ford 302.. I was thinking of some thru hull exhaust, think you could throw some pics of the engine bay up there for me?, If i had the money id buy that boat, thats all i have to say, love the hardtop!

Jul-10-07

A:

Good to hear from another Starfire enthusiast! She gets attention whenever we go out. I'll get some engine pic's up on thursday for you. Rob
